ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Clifton Hickey:  Born on October 20, 1974, I grew up in a small two bedroom home along with my father, mother, and two siblings.  Around the young tender of age of twelve, my parents divorced.  The separation impacted my childhood behavior in a negative way.  My interest in school soon begin to dwindle more and more each year until eventually I ended up dropping out of high school in the 12th grade.  With one foolish decision came another landing me inside a federal prison for a lengthy amount  of time.  in March of 1998, a federal judge sentenced me to 240 months (20 years), and 120 months (10 years) of supervised release.

During my stint, reading books of all genre freed my mind of the horrors that existed more so than not inside the prison walls.  I attained my GED, Culinary certification, Restaurant Management, and a few other certificates as well.  But my true interest in reading occurred while reading a urban novel titled "Milk In My Coffee," written by Erick Jerome Dickey.  I was so inspired the authors skills that it inspired me to put a few good ideas of my own on paper which has brought me to this point in time today.

I can honestly attest to the fact which is READING...saved my life and without having furthered my education, who knows how far down a dark path I would have traveled.
